Family run Peters Brothers Meat Market, based in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country since 1940, continues to craft its famous beef jerky using the same old world methods and recipes from the days of yore.
Peters Brothers Meat was founded in 1940 by the original Peters Brothers, William and George Peters. In the 1970’s George’s son Donald took over its operation. Today Donald’s sons Rex and Tim operate the Peters family smokehouse, market and farm just like their grandfather George and great uncle William, and their parents Donald and Jerilyn, did for decades.
With the smoke house busy year-round, homemade jerky, hams, sausage and bacon are cured with the same time-tested integrity and ingredients. Rex and Tim operate their state of the art smokehouse with leading science and touch of old world artistry. “We over see the smoke house process from start to finish with a keen eye on every detail,” says Rex Peters. “Even though we use the finest modern, computerized machinery, we still make the Jerky in small batches the old fashioned way with select cuts of USDA beef.
